[FUN FACT: Outcast of Redwall was the first book I remember reading seriously. It's the first book I read before trying my hand at writing. ]
But anyways, despite the main characters being animals and all that jazz, I remember that some of the material in Brian Jacques' books was pretty heavy stuff. He covered a lot of sometimes disturbing and sometimes 'is this really children's reading material' sort of things.
But anyways: it's driving me crazy, and I've got to know-- do you remember the book in which there is an otter as a random side character who cooks and eats the bodies of two rats he's killed? It's been a long time, and I think he was some otter's brother, and I think I remember that the otters were telling the main character that he was a crazy kook or something.
But I just want to know.
I want to read that scene again.
Anywho!
Thanks.
